CHRISTMAS CRACKERS JUNIOR FOOTBALL TOURNAMENTS RETURN FOR 2015

For years, our Christmas Crackers tournaments have been legendary at our core @Futsal arenas. They invite local junior football clubs from across the age groups to enter teams, with free Christmas goody bags for every player as well as - most importantly - festive Futsal fun.

This year sees the Christmas Crackers tournaments expand, with an event specifically targeting schools and academies at the start of December, and a separate events for football clubs closer to Christmas day. Schools, academies and clubs are all welcome to enter more than one team, and the tournament is available for both boys and girls teams.

FUTSAL FRENZY SET TO SWEEP THE ISLE OF WIGHT

POSTED ON September 1st, 2015  - POSTED IN Arenas, Isle of Wight, NCA Programme

The Isle of Wight is set to receive its first specialised Futsal arena. As part of their Futsal Academy programme, Isle of Wight College (IWC) will work alongside UK market leaders @Futsal Group to radically transform an existing facility - currently used by the construction apprentices - into a vibrant multi-sports hub featuring Futsal.

The Futsal Academy programme also offers the opportunity for students to study towards a national BTEC Sports qualification, whilst developing the technical skills to harness their potential on the pitch.

Debbie Lavin, Principal at IWC, commented: “We’re delighted to be establishing the Island’s first dedicated Futsal arena, and are really excited about the range of opportunities that will arise as a result. The Futsal Academy programme presents a dynamic approach to learning, and substantial links between sports education and business. @Futsal Group is the leading provider of Futsal in the UK and it’s clear to see why. We look forward to developing a strong and dynamic relationship with them, and can’t wait to see the fastest growing indoor sport on the planet take the Island by storm!”

We were very pleased to read this short article by Robert Hipkiss from the NHS Reaside Clinic in Birmingham. It was great to see how our arena - and consequently the game of Futsal - could play a role in maintaining a community football group. We wish Robert all the best with the project in the future.

BRAND NEW LEEDS LAYOUT SEES 38% INCREASE IN PITCH SIZE

POSTED ON March 20th, 2015  - POSTED IN Arenas, Leeds

The new pitch layout at Leeds International @Futsal Arena

Some of the things that are key to @Futsal Group are continued growth, development and improvement in absolutely everything we do. And as we work through our third year of operation at the Leeds arena, we’ve taken drastic measures to improve the overall playing experience and also customer satisfaction.

That’s why, as of easter 2015, our standard size pitches are now 38% bigger than before. What’s more, the price will remain exactly the same. The new measurements are 26.5 metres x 19.5 metres, meaning that they’re marginally smaller than the previous dimensions for Championship pitches. The pitches are now also significantly larger than The FA’s recommended dimensions, and we believe that they now represent superb value for money.

OLDHAM COLLEGE ART STUDENTS REWARDED FOR URBAN ARTWORK ACHIEVEMENTS

POSTED ON February 11th, 2015  - POSTED IN Arenas, Education, Oldham

The Oldham College art students behind the radical transformation of the sports hall that now hosts Oldham @Futsal Arena were rewarded and thanked this week by @Futsal Group CEO Frank Rodriguez. To mark their incredible achievement, the 25 Art & Design students gathered at the Arena for a presentation and the gift of an @Futsal hoodie - as well as vouchers for a few outstanding contributors.

The students’ journey began when the @Futsal CEO sent a brief to their Digital & Creative Career College; providing them with the opportunity to pitch their designs for the new Arena. And by not only beating their peers to the lucrative contract but also rolling their sleeves up and making the project a reality, the students have a rather impressive addition to their CV. Frank Rodriguez also personally wrote a testimonial which he handed to each student; lauding their creativity, hard work and their professionalism throughout.
